Why?
In May 2020, at the onset of the Covid pandemic, Marc Bolh decided it was time to organize an innovation conference and music festival. Why? Marc will explain the inspiration, timing and reasons for creating Synaptic Supercollider. We'll also take a deep dive in to why we create things, and what it takes to see a project through in the face of adversity.

Get Fired! Up
Throughout history, a never ending cycle of destruction and creation has pushed humanity higher. Alan Newman has created amazing companies such as Seventh Generation and Magic Hat Breweries after losing it all as an entrepreneur. As we emerge from a period of adversity and loss, Alan imagines the ways in which destruction may lead society to reach new heights.

Write your Song
Have you ever wanted to write the next big hit song? Most creatives I know have at one point or another. In this session, singer/songwriter Myra Flynn will compose a song with the participants. We'll choose a genre, chord progression, melody and lyrics. Then it will all comes together, right? Well that's on us.

Mindful User Experience Design
Remember the old TV remotes that have 40 buttons with vague labels? Many companies spend a ton of time and money creating products that their customers don’t know how to use. User Experience Design is the go-to method for resolving usability issues, which leads to increased customer satisfaction and revenue. Toby Sola will lay out all the tricks of the trade, hard won from over five years of experimentation.

Meditation to Project Success
Success with creative projects is a head game as much as a technical challenge. Many entrepreneurs and musicians will eventually be successful if they can keep their thoughts positive and see their success. Toby will lead us in a meditation to see success in our mind's eye.

Vertical Takeoff - How Beta Technologies is Reinventing Aviation
Beta Technologies is building an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle that can do amazing things such as deliver man-made organs intended for human transplant. As a startup, Beta is experiencing a near-vertical liftoff as well, from $0 to over $450 million in financing since its inception in 2017. Founder Kyle Clark will explain what it's like for an entrepreneur to pull those kinds of Gs.

The Art of Being Stuck
For almost 15 years, Eva Sollberger has made the video series Stuck in Vermont for Seven Days. That has afforded Eva the time and space to document vibrant communities throughout the Green Mountain state and find purpose. Eva will talk about the joys of living in Vermont and navigating a career in the arts.

Lunch - Mediterranean Platter
Kestrel Caterging will be bringing us a their signature Mediterranean Platter including couscous, hummus, feta, greens, olives & chicken.

Burlington Taiko - Japanese Drummers
Taiko is Japanese for "big drum" and it is a relatively modern revival of ancient Japanese drumming traditions. Since 1987, Burlington Taiko has been mesmerizing audiences with the powerful, spellbinding and propulsive sounds of the taiko.

Vertical Farming - Greg Kelly of Ceres Greens
With an ever increasing population and ever descreasing arable land, a crisis is looming. Controlled environment agriculture, with predictable harvests, able to be grown close to population centers, is part of the solution. Greg Kelly explains how Ceres Greens is rising to the occasion to provide healthy, sustainable food sources.

The Art & Science of Machine Learning - From Computational Creativity to Killer Apps
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are seemingly enigmatic buzzwords that we're told we should care about, but can't quite seem to pin down. In part this is because AI and ML encompass an enormous variety of tools and ideas. In this talk, Nick will highlight work at the bookends of this spectrum.
